This Returns & Refunds Policy applies to all purchases made through www.day-impex.co.uk and www.virkon-disinfectants.co.uk both operated by Day-Impex Ltd (Company No. 00415552), whose registered address is Station Works, Earls Colne, Colchester, Essex CO6 2ER, United Kingdom.
We take great care to ensure that all our products reach you in perfect condition. However, we understand that occasionally you may need to return an item. The following terms set out your rights and our obligations under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, and relevant Business-to-Business (B2B) provisions.
1. Returns for Faulty or Damaged Goods
If a product you receive is faulty, defective, or damaged on arrival, please notify us as soon as possible and in any event within 14 days of receipt by emailing info@day-impex.co.uk with your order number and details of the fault.
We may request photographic evidence or that the goods be returned for inspection.
If the fault is verified, we will offer one of the following remedies:

A replacement of the same item, or
-
A full refund, including the original delivery charge (if applicable).
Return shipping costs for faulty or defective goods will be reimbursed once we confirm the item is defective.
2. Returns of Unopened Goods (Change of Mind)
We understand that sometimes you may change your mind. You may return unopened and unused goods for a refund, provided that:

You contact us within 14 days of receipt, and

The goods are returned immediately and in resalable condition, in their original, unopened packaging.
We reserve the right to inspect returned goods before approving any refund.
Refunds will exclude the original delivery cost, and return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
Refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 14 days of our receipt and inspection of the returned goods.
3. Goods That Cannot Be Returned
Due to the nature of our products, we cannot accept returns or issue refunds for any items that have been opened, used, or otherwise cannot be resold.
This includes, but is not limited to:

Any chemical, disinfectant, or laboratory product that has been opened or unsealed;

Products with packaging that has been tampered with;

Custom-made or special-order items.
This policy ensures compliance with health, safety, and contamination control standards.
4. Business-to-Business (B2B) Transactions
For B2B sales, the above policy applies with the following variations:

The Consumer Contracts Regulations (which allow a 14-day cooling-off period) do not apply to business purchases.

Returns are accepted solely at the discretion of Day-Impex Ltd, unless goods are faulty or supplied in error.

Returned items must be in new and unopened condition. A restocking charge of up to 20% may apply to discretionary returns.

Risk and responsibility for returned goods remain with the buyer until received and inspected by Day-Impex Ltd.

Unauthorised returns may not be accepted or refunded.

We recommend using a tracked and insured delivery service, as we cannot be responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.
6. Refund Processing
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If approved, a refund will be issued to your original payment method within 14 business days.
