Environmental Policy

Policy Statement:

Day Impex Ltd is committed to conducting its operations in an environmentally responsible manner, fully compliant with UK environmental legislation, and consistent with our role in supporting the pharmaceutical, health, and hygiene sectors. We recognise that our operations and supply chain impact the environment and strive to minimise this through continuous improvement, prevention of pollution, and sustainable business practices.

1. Legal and Regulatory Compliance

Day Impex Ltd will ensure compliance with all relevant UK and international environmental legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and other requirements to which we subscribe. This includes, but is not limited to:
• The Environmental Protection Act 1990
• The Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011
• The Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005
• REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals)
• UK Packaging Waste Regulations

2. Resource Efficiency

We aim to use natural resources efficiently and responsibly:
• Reduce energy and water consumption across our operations
• Promote paperless operations through digital systems
• Encourage reuse and recycling of materials wherever practical
• Use recyclable or biodegradable packaging materials where possible

3. Waste Management

• All waste will be managed in accordance with the waste hierarchy: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover, and Dispose
• Licensed waste carriers will be used for all commercial and hazardous waste
• Waste streams will be regularly reviewed for reduction opportunities

4. Sustainable Sourcing and Products

• We actively assess the environmental impact of products we source or manufacture
• Preference is given to suppliers and manufacturers who adhere to sustainable practices and recognised environmental standards (e.g. ISO 14001)
• We continuously review our product portfolio for opportunities to introduce lower-impact alternatives

5. Transport and Logistics

• We consolidate deliveries and shipments where possible to reduce emissions
• We engage with logistics partners that demonstrate environmental best practices
• We monitor fleet and courier use for fuel efficiency

6. Pollution Prevention

• We will minimise the release of pollutants into the environment through safe handling, storage, and disposal practices
• Spill prevention and emergency response protocols are in place

7. Training and Awareness

• All staff are made aware of our environmental policy and objectives
• Relevant employees receive environmental training as part of their induction and ongoing development

8. Continuous Improvement

• Environmental objectives and targets are reviewed annually
• Performance is monitored and actions are taken to improve where necessary
• We welcome input from staff and stakeholders to enhance environmental performance

9. Communication and Transparency

• This policy is made available to all employees, contractors, customers, and the public
• Day Impex Ltd commits to transparent communication on environmental matters when requested

Review and Responsibility

The Managing Director is responsible for ensuring the implementation of this policy, which will be reviewed annually or when significant changes occur in operations or legislation.
