1. Purpose
This policy sets out Day-Impex Ltd’s commitment to supporting employees in their professional development by providing opportunities for career progression, skills enhancement, and personal growth.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all employees of Day-Impex Ltd, regardless of role,
department, or length of service.
3.Principles
Equal Opportunity: All employees are provided with fair and equal access to career development opportunities.
Merit-Based Progression: Promotion and advancement are based on performance, competence, and potential.
Skills Development: Employees are encouraged to acquire new skills relevant to their roles and future career aspirations.
Supportive Environment: Managers and HR provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship where appropriate.
4. Career Development Activities
Internal Promotions: Priority will be given to internal candidates where possible.
Secondments / Cross-Departmental Experience: Opportunities to broaden knowledge and exposure to different areas of the business.
Performance Reviews: Annual reviews identify development needs and career goals.
Individual Development Plans (IDPs): Created jointly between employees and managers to support professional growth.
5. Roles & Responsibilities
Employees: Take ownership of their career development, participate in training, and discuss aspirations with managers.
Managers: Support team members’ development, provide feedback, and recommend opportunities.
HR: Ensure fair access, maintain records, and monitor effectiveness of the policy.
6. Monitoring & Review
Policy effectiveness will be reviewed annually by HR.
Updates will be made to align with business strategy and industry best practices.
