The measurement
of time in a glass has been the subject of interest for
5 centuries and the source of many beautiful gift ideas.
For 30 years, Day-Impex Limited have been manufacturing
a wide variety of Unmounted Time Glasses to suit the needs
of all Craftsmen and Gift Manufacturers working with Wood,
Brass, Slate, Plastic, Acrylic and other materials. Many
shapes, sizes, running times and colours are featured
in our range.
The Shape:
We can make the body of the Time Glass with 2 bulbs
in cylindrical form (straight sides); rounded, or pear-shaped.
We also offer 3-bulb or 4-bulb timers.
The Size:
Time Glasses can be made with a body diameter as small
as 1/2" or as large as 7". The overall length
of the timer can be as small as 21/2" long or as
long as 23". Within these extremes we offer 15
standard sizes.

The Running
Time:
Variety of choice is the key. You can select a running
time ranging from three minutes to four hours according
to the size of the glass, as detailed in the table below.
The Colours:
Genuine natural sand is the traditional and most popular
choice of filling material to flow through the Time Glass.
Our sand is selected, graded, washed and dried to ensure
its free-flowing qualities. Coloured glass-shot (Ballotini)
is available in most Timers in an attractive array of
shades - pink, blue, green, yellow, red and white are
just a few.
Our standard range of shapes and sizes are detailed
below. If you have a requirement or idea for a Time
Glass which is not met exactly by one of our standards,
please do not be deterred. We shall gladly send our
quotation against your sketch or specification.
